Who We Are
Nurturing Dreams Ghana (NDG) is a dynamic, African-led organization
committed to nurturing a skillful, independent-minded, and purpose-driven youth
of character in support of stronger communities across Ghana. With roots in
Kumasi, we have grown to address youth challenges on a national scale,
expanding our innovative approach to meet the diverse needs of vulnerable youth
in both urban and rural settings throughout the country.

What We Do

— Training
We provide vocational skills training to ensure long-term employability and make upskilling and reskilling a transformative priority for our participants.

— Coaching
We are committed to helping our youth overcome challenges and accelerate their progress. We guide them in building personalized plans to address areas needing attention and support their growth.

— MENTORING
We connect younger, less experienced teens and youth with mature, knowledgeable, and caring adults to establish long-term professional, career, and psychosocial support through role modeling and mentorship.

— COMMERCIALIZATION
To achieve self-sustainability in our social enterprise model, we sell the products made by our trainees to supporters who want to contribute to impactful change.

Impact Stories
Building Dreams:
Kwabena’s Story of Hope and Empowerment through NDG
Kwabena’s story is one of transformation and hope. Kwabena’s early life was marked by choices that seemed to promise quick rewards. Driven by peer pressure and the allure of shortcuts to fast money, he became a drug peddler, traveling up to 8 hours a day in pursuit of easy cash. But this dangerous path only led to deeper instability.
Through countless counseling sessions, coaching, and mentoring, Kwabena received the help, empathy, and care he needed to turn his life around. With NDG’s support, he was enrolled as an apprentice at a high-end fashion design school. There, he honed his craft, channeling his energy into something positive and creative.
Today, Kwabena is a master of his trade. He earns his own income and has become a beacon of inspiration at the NDG hub, where he now trains other young people, passing on the skills and wisdom he has gained. He is now able to cater for himself as well his family; Kwabena’s journey is a testament to the power of compassion and opportunity, showing that with the right support, anyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve greatness.
Kwabena could have become a prison inmate, he could have even died in the act of crime but NDG continues to be a vital force in transforming lives, empowering the youth, and building stronger communities across Ghana. Kwabena’s story is just one of many—proof that a brighter future is possible for all.
Adiza’s Journey
From Struggle to Strength with NDG’s Support
Adiza grew up in a home filled with hardships alongside her four siblings, where abuse and neglect were daily realities. Her father, addicted to drugs, created a toxic environment of constant physical, verbal, emotional, and financial abuse. This unbearable situation eventually forced her mother, who had been the family’s pillar, to leave the marriage. Before leaving, Adiza’s mother had taken on the burden of household responsibilities, even working as a head potter (kayayo) to provide for the family.
After her mother’s departure, Adiza’s father became the sole caregiver, but in the worst way possible. He continued his harmful habits, smoking indoors in their already cramped single room and neglecting the children’s basic needs, forcing them to become secondary smokers. To protect her siblings from further neglect, Adiza took on menial jobs, becoming the breadwinner for her family at a young age.
Thankfully, Nurturing Dreams Ghana (NDG) stepped in, recognizing Adiza’s resilience and the weight of her responsibilities. With their support, Adiza was rescued from her traumatic situation and given opportunities that valued her efforts and potential. NDG helped redirect her to jobs that matched her capabilities, offering her a sense of hope and dignity.
With their guidance, Adiza is now preparing to enroll in relevant training programs and internships during her senior high school vacations. This support is setting her on a path toward a brighter future, where she can develop her skills and create opportunities not just for herself but for her family.
Adiza’s story is one of courage, resilience, and transformation, made possible through NDG’s compassion and support. She is a shining example of how, with the right help, anyone can rise above their circumstances and find their way to a better life.
